Industrial design for complex systems

Industrial design for machinery and equipment

Your system has a function. Design gives it a coherent form and defines how people approach, operate and maintain it. KiTech works with R&D teams on the enclosure, operator interaction and visual identity of complex physical products.

Let’s discuss your equipment

When to involve KiTech

What the work includes

Concept and product identity

Explore product form, proportions and enclosure divisions around the system layout and your company’s visual identity.

Operation and service access

Develop the design around working areas, openings, doors and interfaces, in coordination with system requirements and your engineering team.

Design development for production

Refine product surfaces and enclosure parts, select materials and finishes, and coordinate with engineers and suppliers within the agreed project scope.

Working directly with your development team

  1. Define the users, operating environment, mechanical constraints and required deliverables together.
  2. Develop design alternatives and select a direction based on operation, structure and visual identity.
  3. Detail the selected direction and review it with the development team, using prototypes where needed.

You work directly with Kiril Gitman, an industrial designer and mechanical engineer. Mechanical design scope, responsibility for engineering validation and supplier roles are defined separately for each project.

Before we start

Can you work around existing mechanics?

Yes. We review assemblies, dimensions, openings and access requirements, then establish what can change and what must remain before developing the concept.

Does this include engineering the entire machine?

The focus is industrial design and enclosures in collaboration with your engineering team. Additional mechanical work and external expertise depend on the agreed scope.

What should we prepare for the first discussion?

A description of the system, its development stage, images or an existing model if shareable, and the design challenge you want to address. Sensitive information should only be shared under suitable arrangements.

Tell us what the system does, its development stage and the design support you need.
